When you have Netflix installed on every possible gadget, you might have a very vague idea of what going to the movies is like. But it wasn’t always like that.
Kuala Lumpur locals reminisce about what it was like back in the day, when going to the Coliseum was an event. You would learn about a premiere from a newspaper ad or a hand-drawn bulletin hanging outside of the movie theater that is now over a century old. Standards of politeness were pretty high. They wouldn’t let you in if you were late and forbade you talk during the screening.
