The explosion in Beirut was so intense that many Lebanese liken it to the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. On August 4, 2020, nearly 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate detonated in Beirut's seaport. 210 people lost their lives, around 6,000 were injured, and 300,000 Lebanese were left homeless. During this time, a Russian film crew was shooting a documentary in a small village 40 kilometers from the capital. Following the explosion, they returned to Beirut, capturing unique footage of the aftermath and recording the stories of those injured and bereaved.
