There’s a lot to be seen at Mount Penrissen in Malaysia; A breath-taking view for starters, and of course its flora and fauna. Even species that were presumed lost for 87 years.

The Bornean Rainbow Toad, one of the world’s rarest amphibian species, was considered extinct, before it was rediscovered in the Sarawak mountains in 2010.

Today, scientists are excited to conduct new research on the species, which is well-known for its bright colours and unique patterns. There’s also new hope for conservation efforts and biodiversity research in the area.

This documentary about the Bornean Rainbow Toad shows Malaysia’s well founded pride in its beauty, uniqueness and a truly extraordinary conservation story.
