In the Soviet Union, people were expected to wear simple clothes made of cheap and practical materials that would better suit the working class. Soviet women didn’t need beautiful dresses to fulfill the state plan, bring up children and work. But there is always someone who wants to think – and dress – outside the box. Slava Zaitsev and Leka Mironova were among those people in the USSR. Career in the fashion industry didn’t bring money or fame at the time, but they pursued their passion for style regardless. This film explores the fashion world behind the Iron Curtain.
