In the DR Congo, many believe in curses and evil spells. Accusations of witchcraft can be triggered simply by the illness of a relative or a neighbour. Witches in the communities are identified by Mujakazi - women psychics. The locals believe they can sense sorcerers. If such a 'prophet' declares that a person is in collusion with evil spirits, his words are not disputed. The unfortunate suspect is then burned or stoned to death. But, what are the goals of Mujakazi?
