Earth is inhabited by millions of animals and plants. But, humans make flora and fauna disappear faster and faster every year. Unfortunately, it's no exaggeration that many animals will die out. Although predictions are too depressing, some people are trying to save endangered species. Bringing the Grey Whale population that is on the brink of extinction is not an easy job. Western Grey Whales were thought to be extinct by the 1950s until a few animals were spotted off the coast of Sakhalin in Russia's Far East. A joint effort by environmental scientists and NGO's with support of a Russian oil company is working to protect and study these spectacular sea mammals. Their population has significantly grown. Yet, many species still need people’s protection.
