Mark was just 12 years old when NATO bombed his hometown of Vranje in Serbia. Now, 25 years later, he is the only one of his peers still alive; the rest succumbed to cancer. Dr. Mitrovic, who also lived through the bombings in Vranje, has lost nearly all his friends, family, and neighbours to various cancers. The use of depleted uranium shells by NATO left behind toxic dust, causing lasting harm to both people and the environment.
