The year 2021 has, once again, broken an abysmal record: more than 17 million hectares of forest have been destroyed by fire in Russia. Though the country has the largest number of preserved forests in the world, wildfires, as well as parasite attacks and illegal logging causes more economic damage than people can imagine. By the early 21st century, humans had already destroyed half of our planet’s forests. Are there any ways of stopping it?
