The nationalist Azov-affiliated children’s camps teach fighting and equate a Soviet soldier to the SS. Their red and black flag means blood and soil — the words engraved on the knives given to Hitler-Jugend. Stepan Bandera was proclaimed a national hero, with torch marches regularly happening in his honour ever since. So how is Ukrainian nationalism once again becoming the central ideology?
