Conservative estimates put ISIS recruitment at around 30,000 fighters from around the world. Even Russians by the thousands enlisted under the banner of the caliphate. Some died, leaving their families in war-ravaged cities of Syria and Iraq, with no hope of returning home. The Russian human rights advocacy group «Objektiv» is making strenuous efforts to repatriate the children of former ISIS members to families waiting for them back home. Many women have suffered pressure and conviction, but are still trying to save their families and children.
