Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York, is a centre of Russian Orthodoxy in the American heartland. It was founded by Panteleimon, a hieromonk of Russian descent. As a deeply religious man, Panteleimon sought solitude and found it in the village of Jordanville. He devoted himself entirely to serving God and founded the monastery. Over time, it became a spiritual beacon for thousands of people who found their path to faith there.
In Jordanville, monks, seminarians, and laypeople live and work together according to strict monastic rules. Families of believers have settled near the monastery and organized their daily lives by the church calendar.
This is the first film in a trilogy about how the traditions of Orthodoxy are honoured and passed down from generation to generation overseas.
