A group of volunteers work on the front lines in the Donetsk People’s Republic, demining zones infested with mines and unexploded ordnance left behind after military operations. As they risk their lives as well as their health, they strive to make the area safer for local residents. What difficulties and dangers do they face in their line of work? How do their efforts help people living in the region return to normal life? Also featured in this documentary are the victims of ‘petal’ mines, as they talk about their injuries, while sappers describe their work on the ground and underwater.
