Aleksey Smirnov is a producer and film director. In 2014, he set aside his career and ventured into conflict zones, just to provide aid to the residents of Donbass. Initially, he offered assistance single-handedly, but realising that one-time aid was insufficient, Aleksey established the «Angels» aid battalion. As a show of support, volunteers established an enterprise to raise money for the humanitarian aid he provides.
