The word «Wushu» is made up of two characters: «wu» meaning martial, and «shu» meaning technique. The Chinese learn this art not to harm others, but to defend themselves. Wushu cultivates inner strength and helps practitioners remain calm and composed in any situation. In combat, the emphasis is on using the opponent's strength against them. Many believe that practicing Wushu improves health, and legend has it that its creator, the monk Zhang Sanfeng, lived to be 300 years old. To this day, the martial art of Wushu, deeply rooted in Eastern philosophy, is preserved and passed down through generations in the mountain monasteries of China.
