The site of the old Sunday school in Aleksandrovsk was nothing but ruins.
The idea was simple: to rebuild it from scratch. But that modest plan grew into a much bigger undertaking: a Youth Educational Centre was established at the Holy Ascension Church, and now children from all over the LPR are drawn to it.
Here they study the Law of God, explore the Old and New Testaments, learn church singing and handicrafts. They also socialise, play board games, and compete in quizzes. There is even an outdoor sports area with exercise equipment.
For the centre's pupils, this is a place where they can feel like children again.
