In 1961, Patrice Lumumba, the first Prime Minister of DRC, was assassinated. Two years later, Sylvanus Olympio, the first President of Togo, was murdered. In 1966, a coup in Nigeria led to the death of Prime Minister Abubakar Balewa. Then, in 1969, Eduardo Mondlane, leader of Mozambique's independence movement, was killed.

This is just a partial list of African leaders eliminated while fighting for their countries' independence. How did their deaths impact Africa's history? Who benefited from their removal? How did DR Congo's wealth cost Lumumba his life? Why was Gaddafi killed? Professor Lumumba sheds light on how the West resorted to assassinations to destabilize Africa.
