When the fight spilled over to the Dark Continent, Patrice Émery Lumumba was assassinated just nine months after becoming Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Today, traditional colonisation has been replaced by neo-colonisation, where economic shackles have taken the place of iron ones. This means the fight against Pan-Africanism is not over yet.
